The
DataDirect Networks Silicon Storage Appliance (S2A) is an intelligent network
infrastructure device designed and optimized for the high bandwidth
and capacity requirements of data centers, rich media and high
performance workgroup applications. The S2A accelerates application
storage 3 times faster than current SAN solutions and 10 times
faster than NAS solutions.
The
S2A consolidates and manages storage simply and easily, and is
optimized to meet the demanding requirements of growing storage
environments. With DataDirect's Data Manager Virtualization EngineTM,
IT managers can virtualize pools of storage to achieve a unified
view of content and information across a broad user base while
reducing the number of IT professionals required to manage that
storage.

S2A3000
The
S2A3000
is a 1U high device with 4 ports for front-end connectivity to
servers and workstations and 6 ports for connectivity to
storage devices. It offers aggregate bandwidth of 400
megabytes per second.
The
S2A3000 allows a system administrator to support up to 24
workstations, and scales from 288 gigabytes to 14 terabytes of
storage capacity per appliance.

S2A6000
The
S2A6000
is a 6U high device with 8 ports for front-end connectivity to
servers and workstations and 20 ports for connectivity to
storage devices. It offers aggregate bandwidth of 800
megabytes per second.
The
S2A6000 allows a single system administrator to support up to
512 servers, and 180 terabytes of storage capacity per
appliance. This management power and scalability reduces TCO
by a factor of 10 over competitive solutions.

S2A8000
The
S2A8000
is a 2Gb-ready, 2U high enterprise-class device that makes it
easy for the scientific, supercomputing and broadcast
communities to deploy and scale 2 Gigabit per second Fibre
Channel storage area network infrastructures. The appliance is
the first device of its kind to obliterate the 1 Gigabyte
sustained throughput barrier, allowing IT professionals to
achieve more from their storage infrastructures by using a
cost-effective, efficient Fibre Channel device. Available in
"singlet" and "couplet" versions, the
S2A8000 has been expressly designed to deliver performance
with scalability for supercomputing, scientific and large
broadcast storage networks.
